The xTool F2 is a high-speed portable dual laser engraver combining a 15W blue diode laser and 5W infrared laser with a built-in 50MP camera for fast, precise and versatile engraving.
The xTool F2 is a compact dual-laser engraving machine designed for makers, creators, small businesses and professional customisation applications. Combining a 15W blue diode laser with a 5W infrared laser, the F2 provides two different laser sources in one portable machine.
The blue diode laser is suited to engraving and cutting many non-metal materials, while the 1064nm infrared laser is designed for detailed marking and engraving on metals. This dual-laser configuration makes the xTool F2 particularly useful for businesses producing personalised products across different material types.
The 15W blue diode laser operates at a wavelength of 445 ± 15 nm and is designed for applications such as wood, acrylic, leather, paper, rubber and other suitable non-metal materials.
The increased diode power allows the F2 to handle more demanding cutting and engraving applications compared with lower-powered portable diode engravers. xTool specifies cutting capability of up to 15mm basswood in multiple passes and up to 12mm black acrylic in multiple passes, depending on material and processing conditions.
The integrated 5W infrared laser operates at 1064 ± 5 nm, making it particularly suitable for marking and engraving metals. Compatible applications include stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and precious metals, as well as selected plastics and coated materials.
The infrared laser expands the F2 beyond conventional diode engraving by providing a dedicated laser source for metal marking, including black marking and colour engraving applications on suitable metals.
With a maximum processing speed of up to 6,000 mm/s, the xTool F2 is designed for rapid engraving and efficient production. Its galvo-based laser movement allows the laser beam to move quickly across the work area, making it particularly useful for personalised products and small-batch production.
The high processing speed is especially beneficial for businesses producing multiple items such as keyrings, metal cards, jewellery, promotional products, wooden gifts and other personalised products.
A major feature of the xTool F2 is its built-in 50MP smart camera. The camera provides a live preview of the working area, allowing users to position artwork directly over the material before starting the engraving process.
xTool specifies alignment accuracy of up to 0.1 mm on small pieces. The camera system can also support automatic positioning, batch processing and visual workflows, helping reduce errors, material waste and setup time.
The standard xTool F2 provides a 115 × 115 mm working area, making it compact enough for desktop use while providing sufficient space for a wide range of personalisation projects.
For longer materials and increased batch-production capability, the optional Slide Extension expands the working area to 115 × 400 mm. The built-in camera can also visualise the extended workspace for easier positioning.
The xTool F2 includes autofocus to simplify material setup. The machine is designed to automatically determine the appropriate processing height, reducing manual adjustment before engraving.
Its software also supports features including curved-surface engraving, embossing, colour marking and batch processing, giving users more options for creative and commercial applications.
The combination of dual lasers, high-speed engraving and camera-based positioning makes the xTool F2 particularly well suited to product personalisation and small-batch manufacturing.
Applications include personalised gifts, jewellery, promotional products, metal tags, keyrings, signage, wooden products, leather goods, awards, ornaments and customised merchandise. Its compact 4.8kg design also makes it suitable for demonstrations, craft fairs, pop-up shops and on-site engraving.
The xTool F2 is designed to operate using xTool Studio, xTool's software platform for designing, preparing and controlling F2 laser jobs. Supported connections include Wi-Fi, USB and IP, providing flexible options for connecting the machine.
Important: Current xTool documentation states that the xTool F2 does not support LightBurn and is designed to work with xTool Studio.
Measuring approximately 175 × 237 × 334 mm and weighing approximately 4.8kg, the xTool F2 is designed to be easy to move between workspaces. Its compact footprint makes it suitable for desktops, studios, retail environments and mobile personalisation setups.
For businesses that need to take laser engraving to exhibitions, markets, events or customer locations, the portable design provides an alternative to larger desktop laser machines.
The xTool F2's two laser sources allow it to work with a broad range of materials. The 15W diode laser is primarily intended for suitable non-metal materials, while the 5W infrared laser is designed for metal marking and engraving applications.
Depending on the laser source and material, applications can include cutting, surface engraving, deep engraving, black marking, colour marking and other creative laser-processing techniques.
The xTool F2 is classified as a Class 4 laser device. Although the machine has a protective enclosure, xTool states that it remains Class 4 because the laser can be operated with the enclosure open. Always follow the manufacturer's safety instructions and use appropriate laser safety procedures.
The xTool F2 is suitable for laser engraving, laser cutting, metal marking, product personalisation, promotional products, jewellery, gifts, signage, craft products, batch production and on-site customisation.
